Other Canadian Competitive Programs

McGill · UBC · University of Toronto

We support several other competitive programs at top Canadian universities — each with its own marks thresholds, holistic profiles, and supplemental applications.

McGill University Undergraduate Application Coaching

One of Canada’s top universities, many undergraduate programs at McGill are highly competitive and globally prestigious. Many of these competitive programs, however, only consider a prospective student’s marks and do not have supplemental applications. Mid-to-high 90’s are typically required for admission to:

Of these, only Global Engineering, a new program offered jointly by McGill and CentraleSupélec in France, requires submitting materials beyond your transcripts.

For our students, we help evaluate whether McGill is a good fit for their profile, interests, and future aspirations. And it often is!

University of British Columbia Admissions Help

One of Canada’s most competitive undergraduate universities across the board, the University of British Columbia (UBC) uses a holistic approach to nearly all undergraduate applications. This means that whether you’re applying to psychology, engineering, history, or English, you are required to submit a personal profile along with your transcripts.

The personal profile required for UBC applicants generally consists of short, 200–500 word answers to a few questions. Some past years’ questions include:

  • What is important to you? And why?
  • Tell us about who you are. How would your family, friends, and/or members of your community describe you? If possible, please include something about yourself that you are most proud of and why.
  • Tell us more about one or two activities listed above that are most important to you. Please explain the role you played and what you learned in the process. You will be asked for a reference who can speak to your response.

Some programs also require additional supplementary materials, including the Bachelor of Commerce (UBC Vancouver), also known as the Sauder Commerce degree. Sauder Commerce applicants must answer the following questions:

  • Explain how you responded to a problem and/or an unfamiliar situation. What did you do, what was the outcome, and what did you learn from the experience?
  • How are you positively impacting your community? How do you plan to leverage your UBC Sauder experience to enhance these efforts?

Typically, we can support most applications to UBC, but we specialize in the following programs:

Our coaches can help you understand whether there are programs at UBC that are a good fit for your profile, then help you develop your personal profile and stand out in their holistic review process.

University of Toronto Application Assistance

At UofT, many globally renowned programs require only marks to be admitted to your first year, including University of Toronto Life Sciences and Mathematics.

Several widely recognized programs, including the Peace, Conflict and Justice (PCJ) program at the Munk School of Global Affairs, are second-year entry programs. Others that require supplemental applications include Engineering, Rotman Commerce, and Nursing.

We coach students to evaluate UofT’s offerings and their alignment with a student’s profile, then assist with any supplemental applications. Explore our dedicated program pages below for more information.
