About Evelyn

Evelyn Zheng is the Head of Canadian Admissions at Admissions Avenue, where she specializes in helping ambitious high school students gain admission to Canada's most competitive undergraduate programs in both business and STEM disciplines, including engineering, computer science, mathematics, and related dual degree programs.

As an Ivey Business School graduate (HBA '22) and scholarship recipient, Evelyn has guided students through eight admissions cycles to top Canadian business programs, including Ivey AEO, Queen's Commerce, UBC Sauder, Rotman Commerce, York Schulich, McGill Desautels, and the Waterloo/Laurier BBA dual degree programs.

Evelyn also works with Canada's most selective engineering programs, including Waterloo Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computational and Financial Management (CFM), Accounting and Financial Management (AFM), University of Toronto Engineering (Core 8, TrackOne, and Engineering Science), and Waterloo/Laurier dual degree programs.

Evelyn's coaching philosophy is shaped by her own experiences performing at elite levels across academics, athletics, business, and leadership. She is a current Team Canada national team fencing athlete and an experienced NCCP fencing coach, giving her firsthand insight into high performance, resilience, and goal setting. She also serves as an Athlete Mentor with Classroom Champions, helping young people develop confidence, leadership, and life skills through sport.

Professionally, Evelyn has built a diverse career spanning finance, technology, and leadership. She previously worked at BlackRock within Institutional Client Business, supporting some of Canada's largest institutional investors. She has also led inbound sales efforts at a B2B AI technology company, developing expertise in communication, strategic thinking, and understanding how individuals can effectively articulate their unique value.

As a public speaker and mentor, Evelyn draws upon evidence-based principles from sports psychology, performance coaching, and leadership development to help students navigate admissions with confidence and authenticity. She believes that successful applications are not built through resume stacking, but by helping students identify meaningful experiences, communicate their impact effectively, and develop a clear understanding of who they are and what they hope to achieve.

Through Admissions Avenue, Evelyn works closely with each student to develop a highly personalized strategy tailored to their strengths, aspirations, and target programs. Her goal is not only to help students gain admission to exceptional universities, but also to equip them with the mindset, self-awareness, and communication skills that will serve them long after they receive their acceptance letters.
